This bespoke lifting attachment was designed to enable the
operator to lift and move very long reels of film or foil, using a shaft
through the core of the reel.
The reels were in excess of 200kg (440lb), meaning that the
cradle attachment needed to be well supported in order to support the load
being lifted.
In order to achieve this, stainless steel back plates and
skid plates were added to the assembly to increase the rigidity and strength
overall.
The attachment arms can support a shaft of up to 130mm
diameter, giving the cradle attachment a large range of shafts that it is
capable of lifting.
The arms are secured into place using two star knobs on the
rear of the cradle attachment back plate. The star knobs are tightened to
ensure that the arms can be held at the correct distance apart whilst moving
the reel.
