Packline ‘Compac’ Lifter with Platform Attachment for Lifting and Handling Sacks of Material

The bespoke dual column lifter, from Packline, was designed to lift sacks of ingredients from a pallet to a mezzanine floor with a height of 2.8m.

Packline’s standard ‘Compac’ Lifter is limited to lift to 2.5m as standard for safety and practicality reasons.

However, in this instance, a platform attachment was needed to reach higher than 2.5m.

The requirement was to lift 25kg sacks of material up to a mezzanine floor; the operator then opened the sack when stood up on the mezzanine floor.

To achieve this requirement, a dual column has been fitted to the ‘Compac’ lifter in order to reach a height of up to 2.8m from the platform attachment.

Simple push button controls on a mounted pendant remote control allow the operator to lift the sacks using the main lifter column first, or by the dual column separately.

Once at the required height, the sacks can be taken from the platform attachment and placed onto the mezzanine, or another truck, for example.

The stainless steel structure makes this lifting solution suitable for the food and pharmaceutical industries.

Extra leg supports were added to the ‘Compac’ Lifter to ensure maximum safety levels at height, and an efficient and manoeuvrable design for the customer.

Technical Information:

Safe Working Load (SWL): 100kg (220.46lbs).

Reel Handling Equipment with Extended Vertical Spindle Attachment for Handling Longer Reels

New to Packline is the reel lifting equipment with extendedvertical spindle attachments, available in widths of 3” or 6”.

The extended 3” or 6” spindle attachments allow much longer reels to be lifted.

The rollers on the attachment mean that the transition from the spindle attachment to the processing line mandrel is much easier and smoother.

The additional length of the attachment ensures that the load centre of the reel is still on the length of the spindle.

Geared rotation allows the operator to re-orientate the reel just by turning the hand-wheel.

This lifting solution enabled the operator to pick up large reels, rotate them and then raise them above head height in order to load the reels onto a processing line.

Most reel sizes can be catered for and therefore each application is designed and manufactured individually to ensure the required spindle attachment is supplied.

Specifications 3” spindle:

Maximum capacity: 250kg / 551.16lbs (with appropriate leg length).

Load centre: 722mm / 28.43 inches from front of column.

Drum and Barrel Handling Equipment in Stainless Steel with Upright Front Castors

Packline’s Drum and Barrel Handling Equipment is a proven and tested solution for most manual handling applications within industries such as food and pharmaceutical.

The standard lifter’s front castors are mounted facing forwards and allow for easy movement. The rocking pallet wheel assembly, when mounted, allows for easy access to the pallet.

The rear castors are braked and supplied with a foot guard to protect the operator.

This barrel handling equipment was needed in an environment where once loaded, the lifter needed to be pushed up a slight incline and onto a flat surface. For this reason, the front castors are mounted facing downwards and extensions added to the rear castors.

This enabled the barrel or drum lifter to ‘rock over’ the incline and onto the flat surface.

The barrel handler’s column height was decreased to 1700mm to ensure that the lifter was suitable for a specific confined space, enabling the lifter to pass through a low height doorway.

It was important that the lifting attachment would not allow the load to swing forwards and backwards in any way. This would cause the lifter to become unstable, hence the clamp attachment was designed as a fixed solution.

Specifications:

Safe working load (SWL): 150kg or 300kg.

Charging Supply: 240v, 110v or 110v USA.

Leg Length: 350mm up to 1000mm.

Leg Width: 500mm up to 1000mm.

Column Height: 1100mm up to 2500mm.

Operation: push buttons or remote control.

The Cradle Attachment for Lifting Very Long Reels

The extra wide cradle attachment is designed to lift very long reels already mounted onto a mandrel.

The stainless steel assembly means that the attachment is strong enough to lift a load up to 90 kg. The reel is lifted with the mandrel already inserted, meaning that it is necessary for the attachment cradle arms to straddle the reel itself.

A ‘bolt on block’ in the centre of the cradle attachment was added in order to reduce the risk of pivoting by the attachment when loaded with the reel.

The lifter allows the reel to be lifted up to the necessary working height and moved into position. The mandrel can then be unloaded into the machine.

This lifter frame has longer legs than are used as standard in order to add stability to the lifter when the reel is lifted to its highest position.

Specifications:

Safe Working Load (SWL): 90kg (198.42lbs approx.)

Attachment Mass: 53.5kg (117.95lbs approx.)

Construction: Stainless Steel 304, Aluminium 6082 T6

Handling Large Reels with the Clamp Attachment and ‘Side Shift’ Feature

The clamp attachment for handling large reels has been designed with the ability to shift the entire clamp sideways, left or right as required, and by a specified distance.

The arms of the clamp were offset from the centre of the clamp so that they could fit into confined spaces. Once in place, these clamp arms were used to clamp a shaft and remove it from the press.

Rotation of the clamp can be carried out manually with a hand-wheel or via a motor and using a remote control.

Sideways shifting ensures that the load can be moved into place and then accurately shifted left or right to align it with a machine mandrel for example.

Stainless Steel Platform Attachment for Lifting Trays of Meat in the Food Processing Industries

The stainless steel platform lifting attachment has been designed with functionality and weight saving in mind. It is designed to lift trays of meat onto a trolley. The trolley is then pushed into an oven for cooking.

Made from one single sheet of Stainless Steel 304, the platform attachment is incredibly strong and capable of lifting large loads with ease.

The platform construction enables the lifting equipment to gain access to the trolley as well as adding strength and stability when the load is lifted, eliminating any bowing or distorting in the material.

Stop pins at the rear of the platform stop any load from sliding backwards against the column of the lifter. These can also be used to fit a cover onto the top of the platform to stop any residue dropping down through the cut outs.

The cut-outs were added in order to allow residue from the meat to run off the product whilst being transported, but as stated above, in some cases, this is not acceptable in the environment and so a covering plate may be added.

Specifications:

Safe Working Load (SWL): 90kg (198.42lbs)

Platform Base Size: 850mm x 740mm (other sizes available) (33.47 x 29.13 inches)
