The clamp attachment for handling large reels has been
designed with the ability to shift the entire clamp sideways, left or right as
required, and by a specified distance.
The arms of the clamp were offset from the centre of the
clamp so that they could fit into confined spaces. Once in place, these clamp
arms were used to clamp a shaft and remove it from the press.
Rotation of the clamp can be carried out manually with a
hand-wheel or via a motor and using a remote control.
Sideways shifting ensures that the load can be moved into
place and then accurately shifted left or right to align it with a machine
mandrel for example.
