Wine ‘Sledge’ Trolley

This new ‘sledge’ concept design from Packline, for moving barrels of wine and spirits, is an economical solution for moving barrels.

The new wine sledge or trolley is designed to handle wine casks throughout the chain of wine production, from cleaning, refilling and transport through narrow corridors connecting different storage cellars, encompassing the complete process.

Benefits and Features:

Compact size to ensure the wine trolley is suitable for the narrow corridors and aisles of the wine cellars. Ideal for loading and unloading wine barrels in this restricted area.

The design of the wine sledge facilities every stage of the wine making process, for example, transporting the barrels to and from the filling station, washing station or storage cellar.

The multi-directional wheels enable the trolley to turn virtually on its axis in confined spaces such as the aisles of wine cellars. The frame of the trolley is mounted onto four castors; two fixed and two multi-directional, with a foot operated brake.

Fixed onto the frame, the support system for handling the barrel is composed of four multidirectional ‘rollers’, limited in their horizontal rotation by two stops, ensuring their positioning and automatically adapting to the curvature of different types of wooden barrels. Two of these rollers are provided with a manually operated brake, ensuring safe transport of the barrels. This support system allows 360 degree horizontal rotation of the barrel, enabling the operator to lock the ‘mouth’ of the wine barrel to the desired position for filling with wine or spirits, depending on the operations performed.

The standard version of this truck can transport casks up to a capacity of 450 kg. The wine sledge can be adapted to transport bulkier and heavier barrels.

The trolley is suitable for single operator use.

Manual operation as standard (motorized available on request).

Designed for use with wooden wine barrels.
