Large Adjustable Cradle Attachment for Lifting Long Reels of Material

This bespoke lifting attachment was designed to enable the operator to lift and move very long reels of film or foil, using a shaft through the core of the reel.

The reels were in excess of 200kg (440lb), meaning that the cradle attachment needed to be well supported in order to support the load being lifted.

In order to achieve this, stainless steel back plates and skid plates were added to the assembly to increase the rigidity and strength overall.

The attachment arms can support a shaft of up to 130mm diameter, giving the cradle attachment a large range of shafts that it is capable of lifting.

The arms are secured into place using two star knobs on the rear of the cradle attachment back plate. The star knobs are tightened to ensure that the arms can be held at the correct distance apart whilst moving the reel.

Specifications:

Safe Working Load: 230kg

Range of Widths: 450mm to 1800mm

Shaft Diameter: up to 130mm

Packline’s range of reel and drum lifting equipment is constructed of stainless steel, meaning these lifting solutions are suitable for clean room environments, such as those found in the food processing industries and pharmaceutical industries.

Roll Handling with Single Spindle Hybrid Lifting Attachment

This roll handling solution with the vertical spindle hybrid lifting attachment uses a single spindle design to lift a roll of film or foil in the horizontal position, but also the technology from the vertical spindle to grip the inside of the core, to ensure that the roll cannot slide off the lifting attachment.

This solution is suitable for clean room environments such as those found in food processing and pharmaceutical industries.

The vertical spindle attachment uses a technology which allows the core of a roll to be gripped. The roll can then be lifted and rotated as required.

The single spindle attachment uses a similar concept; however the roll may only be lifted in the horizontal position and moved the same orientation.

This lifting solution is operated with the use of a remote control pendant to allow the operator to stand to the side of the lifter in order to raise the reel to the appropriate height.

This lifting attachment allows the operator some additional reassurance when lifting a reel on a single spindle that the reel is less likely to slide or move.

Specifications

Safe Working Load:  100kg (variations can handle up to 200kg if required).

Reel Core size:  70mm, 76mm or 152mm as standard (other variations are available).
