Fork Attachment for Handling Drums, Reels and Cylindrical Loads

The fork lifting attachment is designed to lift reels of foil or film in the horizontal position from a pallet or the floor using the circumference of the load, leaving the core free.

This solution was necessary to lift a reel from a pallet when in the horizontal position, but only using the circumference. The fork attachment pitch can be adjusted in order to fit around the circumference of the reel or drum.

The requirement was to load the reel onto a cantilever mandrel mounted to the processing line, meaning the lifter itself needed access beneath the processing line. Standard lifter legs would be too tall for this solution.

As a result, the lifter was fitted with low profile legs which only stand 65mm from the ground. This enable the lifter to gain close enough access to load the reel into place.

The straddle legs were necessary in order to lift the roll from the pallet and also lower to the floor if required.

Specifications:

Safe Working Load: 250kg

Fork Lengths: 600mm, 800mm or 1150mm

Maximum Diameter Reel: 750mm on a 690 carriage, 1000mm on an 810 carriage.

Handling Reels of Film or Foil with a Large Core Size

New to Packline is the reel handling equipment designed to lift and rotate reels of film or foil with a large internal core size. Constructed from stainless steel, this reel handling solution is ideal for clean room environments, found in food processing and pharmaceutical industries.

The 10” core vertical spindle attachment is designed to meet a requirement to lift and handle reels of material with a large internal core size. Reel sizes are constantly increasing, and this can include the core size. This attachment caters for this.

Geared rotation allows the operator to re-orientate the reel just by turning the hand-wheel. The front plate centralises the spindle attachment in the core. Having large chamfers on the end plate enables the operator to easily line up the spindle to lower onto the reel’s core.

This lifting solution is designed to pick up large reels, rotate them and then raise them up above head height in order to load them onto a processing line.

Most reel sizes can be catered for, although this solution was designed to handle very large rolls of material.

Specifications:
Maximum Capacity: 60kg
Load Centre: 718mm from front of column
Attachment Mass: 75kg
Main Materials: Stainless Steel 304, Aluminium 6082/T6, Delrin Polypropylene, Brass, Phosphor Bronze.

Lifting Platform Attachment with Conveyor

The platform lifting attachment with conveyor system was developed for a bespoke lifting application. It was needed to lift large items of high value up to a specific height and then allow the load to be maneuvered onto and off the platform attachment easily.

The welded aluminium main frame ensures the structure is strong and robust and highly resistant to corrosion.

The platform lifting attachment has a safety flap fitted which ensures that the load being lifted cannot roll off the front of the ‘DeniRug’ conveyor system, whilst manoeuvring the lifter itself.

The conveyor units, bolted to the side panels of the platform attachment, are rated to ensure that they can hold the weight of the load being lifted. The conveyor rollers can be easily moved and replaced if necessary.

This lifting solution has electric lift and is fully stainless.

Specifications:

·         Safe working load: 150kg

·         Attachment Mass: 77kg
